Dr Joy Philippou MBE in ‘Meditation Poems’ brings zest and a love of life to a modern way of quiet reflection, resolving what might seem this paradox in a way that is uniquely hers.
POEM

Paradox

Eyes make us blind,
And to ears we owe our deafness.
Intellect
And
Will
From clouds of unknowing
That bar us from Reality.

Lips can only utter
What is not worth uttering,
And Silence is our only Eloquence.

Only they who fat can taste life’s nectar,
And before admittance to the Wedding feast
We must be clothed in nakedness.
